This pivotal role is uniquely focused on providing technical architectural leadership during construction, with a long‑term assignment supporting two large, highly technical projects in the Albany area (alongside additional smaller projects). This is an opportunity to serve as a key onsite architectural authority, guide complex construction efforts, mentor team members, and make a lasting impact on the built environment.Serve as CHA’s primary point of contact during construction administration including overseeing customary management of RFIs, PCOs, submittals, construction observation, and other CA activities Provide technical architectural oversight, managing on-site activities 2-3 days per week at Albany‑area project locationsLead the design and delivery of large, technically complex projects—including a major DOT laboratory facility— from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with government regulations, zoning codes, and industry standardsDemonstrate creativity, foresight, and sound architectural judgment in solving technical challenges in the field and advancing project goalsMentor and coordinate junior staff and project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellenceTravel as needed to project sites and client meetings, supporting successful project executionBachelor’s degree in Architecture required; Master’s degree preferredMinimum of 15 years of professional architectural experience requiredRegistered Architect license required; LEED accreditation preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, and/or AutoCAD required; knowledge of Newforma preferredDemonstrated ability to understand architectural requirements and resolve technical challenges on-siteExceptional verbal, written, and graphic communication skillsStrong leadership, organizational, and time management abilitiesFamiliarity with QA/QC procedures and business practices related to architecturePlay a critical onsite role on long‑term, high‑profile projects that directly impact New York’s public infrastructureWork closely with a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and construction professionalsAdvance your career in a flexible, supportive environment that values technical excellence, mentorship, and professional developmentCurious about the impactful work our Architectural & Structural team is doing?
