Job Description

Description The Production Supervisor is responsible for the safe and timely activities of production staff, under the direction of the VP, Manufacturing, with responsibility for the day-to-day operations for production. The Production Supervisor is the main contact for problem solving and continuous improvement activities to be implemented on the manufacturing floor and in training and coaching of production staff as needed. The Production Supervisor is also an individual contributor, building products, in addition to supervising employees. u2022 Manages day-to-day production activities, under the direction of Operations Management. u2022 Supervises production employees in the manufacturing and packaging of products. u2022 Provides leadership for employees through effective communication, coaching, training and development. u2022 Manage a staff of up to 30 production employees including temporary staff. u2022 Ensures appropriate staffing levels based on production needs. Creates and maintains weekly production schedule. u2022 Effectively uses labor, materials, and support services to meet quality standards, production schedules, and profit plans. u2022 Provides technical guidance for production operators, including troubleshooting. u2022 Provides production metrics as requested. u2022 Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery. u2022 Coordinates with other departments to ensure schedules are met. u2022 Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees. u2022 Oversees personnel responsibilities, including evaluating job performance. u2022 Exercise responsibility for product cost control and quality within design and specification constraints, including efficient work area layout and material flow. u2022 Leads finding effective and timely solutions to problems through team members. u2022 Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points. u2022 Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests. u2022 Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. Skills Production management, electronics, aerospace, Production, Production supervision Top Skills Details Production management,electronics,aerospace Additional Skills & Qualifications u2022 Engineering degree in a related technical field, or equivalent experience. u2022 IPC-A-610 and J-STD 001 current soldering certificates required. u2022 Addendum to IPC J-STD 001 Space Application Electronic Hardware a plus. u2022 5+ years manufacturing plant experience. u2022 1 to 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. u2022 Ability to understand and interpret complex manufacturing drawings. u2022 Fluency in English and Spanish is required. COMPUTER SKILLS: u2022 Understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Project and Excel. u2022 Familiarity with ERP systems (CETEC/SAP) preferred. Experience Level Expert Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camarillo, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $42.07 - $52.88/hr.
