Description We are currently seeking a Quality Inspector to collaborate with large scale electrical distribution, transmission, and substation construction projects. This is a hybrid office/field position, and the candidate must have experience with electrical distribution, transmission, and substation infrastructure. WHAT YOU WILL DO: + Provide construction inspections on electrical distribution, transmission, and substation projects. + Interpret complex plans and drawings. + May attend pre-construction meetings, constructability meetings, and status meetings as directed. + Perform safety audits on crews and track/report findings. Collaborate with crews to mitigate deficiencies. + Communicate daily with the utility client, contractors, landowners, and the general public. + Perform duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations. + May be utilized in storm restoration with little advance notice. + Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned. WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE: + 4+ years electrical line construction experience, or electrical distribution engineering & design experience. + Understanding of and ability to read overhead and underground line construction As-Builts. + Understand safety policies. + Knowledge and understanding of electrical distribution transmission, and substation construction standards. + Must live within 45 minutes from FPL assigned service area(Jupiter). + Must be available for major storm response. + Physically fit to walk uneven terrain and inclement weather. + Basic computer and Smart Phone skills. + Desire to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain. + Strong public relation skills/ability to interface with the public. + Willingness to work independently. + Valid driveru2019s license and ability to meet all company driving safety standards. WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE: + Associate or Bacheloru2019s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, building science, or a degree related to these fields. + Previous construction crew senior management experience. + Knowledge of programs such as WMS, StormForce, ADMS, and RSV. + Line Worker certifications. + Strong knowledge ANSI & OSHA safety standards. + Military background. + Bi-Lingual speaking (English and Spanish). WORKING ENVIRONMENT Work alone in an outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol of utility power lines; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions. PHYSICAL The team member must have sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment; to walk up to 10 miles per day, stand, sit, and operate a motor vehicle for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, run, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp and make repetitive hand, arm and shoulder movement in the performance of daily duties (e.g., forcefully beat down brush); carry, push and/or pull light to heavy amounts of weight, frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs. (sandbags); to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; ability to verbally communicate to exchange information with public; ability to see and hear in normal range with or without correction; operate assigned field equipment, including handheld computer, range finder, fyrake, water backpack, shovel, and traffic cone.
