Supplier Quality Engineer

Description Lead and drive supplier quality issues to closure by coordinating crossu2011functional teams, conducting audits, and implementing effective problemu2011solving and prevention strategies. This role ensures supplier compliance, prevents recurrence of quality issues, and supports longu2011term product and process quality across the supply base. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary quality interface with suppliers for plantu2011level quality issues Lead, coordinate, and facilitate supplier quality requests, audits, and verification activities Maintain and manage supplier quality databases, tracking systems, and schedules related to issues, audits, and corrective actions Complete, analyze, and evaluate quality documentation using tools such as: 8D, PDCA, 5u2011Why Layered Process Audits (LPA) Process Flow Diagrams Quality Assurance Visits (QAV) Plan and conduct analysis, inspection, and testing activities to ensure longu2011term quality and recurrence prevention at the supplier level Champion continuous improvement initiatives and erroru2011proofing efforts within the supply base Ensure supplier compliance with IATF / ISO / TS standards and internal quality requirements Work closely with Corporate Supplier Development to maintain consistent and effective supplier communication Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, data, and manuals to determine inspection requirements and resolution paths Coordinate sorting and containment activities, both internal and external Perform onu2011site supplier audits to assess capability, verify countermeasures, and support improvement activities Act as liaison between plant operations and suppliers for supplied product quality concerns Support customer needs related to supplieru2011produced products, including quality issues and documentation Obtain RMAs and process supplier debits / chargebacks Review and approve mass production PPAPs from the supply base Verify internal and supplier corrective actions and countermeasures Skills Supplier quality, Quality engineering, Root cause analysis, 5whys, Apqp, Ppap, Iso 9001, IAFT, 5ps, process flow diagrams, corrective action plans, continuous improvement Top Skills Details Supplier quality,Quality engineering,Root cause analysis,5whys,Apqp,Ppap,Iso 9001,IAFT,5ps,process flow diagrams,corrective action plans,continuous improvement Additional Skills & Qualifications Nice to Have Automotive manufacturing environment experience ASQ certifications (CQE, Lean Six Sigma Belt, etc.) IATF Internal Continuous improvement (Kaizen participation or facilitation) Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Columbus, OH.
