General Production Worker

Job Title: General Production Worker Pay: $17 - $19 an hour Shift: 1st & 2nd shift Job Description We are seeking dedicated candidates to join a plastic pipe extrusion company as material handlers. The role involves removing pipes from extrusion machines, stacking them onto racks, and preparing them for transport. Candidates will have the opportunity to get certified on forklift operation. Additionally, you will perform visual inspections of pipes and manage defective products. A successful candidate has the potential to be promoted to an extrusion operator position. Responsibilities + Remove pipes from extrusion machines and stack them on racks. + Band pipes for transport to scales for weighing. + Perform visual checks of pipes and load defective products onto scrap pallets. + Opportunity to become certified in forklift operation. Essential Skills + General labor experience. + Material handling skills. + Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Forklift experience or willingness to become certified. + Experience in extrusion or injection mold environments is beneficial. Why Work Here? Work Environment The company is a large manufacturing facility specializing in plastic piping. Work shifts are 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am with a 2,2,3 schedule, including working every other weekend. The environment is dusty and not climate controlled, with significant time off throughout the year. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.60/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
