Patients are admitted directly from the operating room, where they are closely monitored, stabilized, weaned from supportive therapies, and extubated as appropriate. The unit also cares for critically ill cardiovascular patients transferred from other facilities, including those experiencing surgical complications or requiring advanced evaluation and specialized care not available elsewhere, supporting a diverse and highly complex patient population. As a Clinical Technician on this team, you will assist with basic patient care, maintain room cleanliness, and demonstrate empathy and compassion in all activities and interactions. You impact patient care by providing critical monitoring, post-operative support, and emotional care, helping to ensure optimal recovery and outcomes for patients with severe cardiac conditions.A caregiver in this role works nights from 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley Catheters.Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:High School Diploma/GEDBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within new hire periodNursing students: required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to hireOne year of recent, full-time patient care experienceOR nursing student with at least one completed clinical rotation as part of an accredited Nursing School ProgramOR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1)OR additional education/training (e.g., mental health)Proficient in applied mathematics and reading comprehension at an 8th grade levelPhysical Requirements: Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeMinimum hourly: $19.25Maximum hourly: $25.95The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
