Job Summary EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Journeyman HVAC Mechanic in Washington, DC for a Temporary Assignment. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99 position. The Journeyman HVAC Mechanic n will provide services to include performing maintenance and repair of equipment at General Services Administration (GSA) Operations. The duration on this temporary assignment is for approximately 3 months #EGS #LI-NS1 Essential Duties & Responsibilities u2022 Installs, services, and repairs environmental control units. u2022 Utilizes knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout, mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, fabricates, assembles and installs ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment, and installs evaporator unit in chassis or in air-duct system. u2022 Executes watch tours in a timely manner. u2022 Monitoring, maintenance, and repairs of the BMCS systems on the site. u2022 Troubleshooting of equipment on site. u2022 Performance of the preventive maintenance of equipment on site. u2022 Institute the corrective action and/or inform his supervisor on any deficiencies found in the course of performing the job. u2022 Provide reports and documentation of completed work. u2022 Monitor subcontractors, as assigned, in their task and provide reports when needed. u2022 Perform other tasks as directed by his supervisor. Qualifications u2022 Journeyman HVAC License required. u2022 Must possess an active Public Trust, or eligibility to obtain. u2022 Must possess one or more of the following certifications: o North American Technician Excellence (N.A.T.E.) HVAC Service Technician Certification o HVAC Excellence Professional Level Certification o UA Star HVACR Mastery Certification u2022 Five (5) or more years of experience as HVAC Tech, maintenance and repairs on Commercial-Industrial building equipment to include but not limited to: Chillers, Pumps, Control Systems, Air Handlers, Cooling Towers, Heat Exchangers, VAV's VFD's. u2022 Demonstrate the ability to read and understand Blueprints, schematics and specifications. u2022 Be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of Chiller Plant Operations. u2022 Be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of Building Air Systems. Physical Demands u2022 Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 75 lbs) u2022 Prolong, extensive or considerable standing/walking. u2022 Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies, and/or parts. u2022 Manual dexterity and mobility. u2022 Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching.
