Grant Thornton is seeking a US Tax Manager to join the Internal Tax Group. Approved office locations can be found below. Position Summary The internal tax group is responsible for the firmu2019s tax matters. As the US Tax Manager, you will play a central role in managing the firmu2019s U.S. income tax compliance and tax provision processes. Youu2019ll work closely with senior leadership and collaborate with colleagues across Federal, state, and international tax disciplines to ensure the firm meets its tax obligations, maintains a strong control environment, and delivers highu2011quality tax reporting throughout the year. This role requires handling highly confidential information related to the firm and its partners, and maintaining strict confidentiality is essential. Success in this role comes not only from strong technical skills, but also from demonstrating enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to support and learn from teammates across all areas of tax. Your day-to-day may include: + Manage the tax compliance process via co-sourcing arrangements, ensuring compliance across relevant jurisdictions, overseeing corporate and partnership return preparation, tracking key milestones, supporting audits and inquiries, as well as preparing quarterly estimates, filings and payments. + Preparing tax provision calculations and related workpapers, ensuring appropriate tax accounting and reconciliations, partnering with business units to understand tax impacts, and working with external auditors during annual and interim reviews. + Drive process improvements and controls by streamlining procedures, reporting, and documentation to enhance efficiency and accuracy. + Monitor legislative and business developments to assess tax implications, provide tax guidance on commercial activities, identify and mitigate tax risks and ensure adherence to the firmu2019s tax strategy and policies. + Participate in special projects across Federal, state, and international tax areas, contributing to adu2011hoc initiatives throughout the year. + Collaborating with partners, managers, and teams across the network, demonstrating a desire to learn from others and proactively support colleagues working in Federal, state, and other tax disciplines You have the following technical skills and qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Accounting + Minimum five to seven years of progressive tax consulting experience, preferably with at least three years focused on Federal taxation, including compliance and tax provision work + Experience with a large accounting firm, law firm, or corporate tax department of a multinational company + CPA or JD/active law license required + Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in U.S. tax compliance and consulting + Strong computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Can travel as needed The base salary range for this position in the firmu2019s Chicago, IL, Downers Grove, IL, Denver, CO, Reno, NV, Cleveland, OH and Baltimore, MD offices only is between $104,000 and $156,000 per year. The base salary range for this position in the firmu2019s Washington, DC, Bellevue, WA, Los Angeles, CA, Newport Beach, CA San Diego, CA, Boston, MA, Iselin, NJ and New York, NY offices only is between $112,300 and $168,500 per year. The base salary range for this position in the firmu2019s San Francisco, CA and San Jose, CA offices only is between $119,500 and $179,400 per year.
