Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Bookkeeping Clerk to work at a facility in Albany, NY. These are _registry_ positions with our company. Pay Rate: $25 / hour Shift details: + M-F 37.5 hrs per week, 9-5 negotiable 1. Minimum Candidate Qualifications: The candidate must have a minimum of: a. Bacheloru2019s Degree in business administration, economics, political science, public administration, sociology, or related discipline. b. One year of experience in basic bookkeeping, accounting and financial record keeping procedures. c. Proof of eligibility to work in New York State. 2. Job Description and Required Services: The Department of Financial Services (DFS) is seeking resumes for a clerk position in the Office of Financial Management. Under the general supervision of the Budget Analyst Trainee 1, the duties include, but are not limited to, the following: u2022 Maintain log to show receipt of court orders and expense vouchers from the NY Liquidation Bureau. u2022 Processes abstract cover sheets and maintain records in DFS tracking system. u2022 Prepare documents and emails to forward to Office of the State Comptroller (OSC) and State Treasury for payment. u2022 Utilizes the Statewide Financial System (SFS) to process vouchers for DFS. u2022 Performs reconciliation of procurement cards in the SFS. u2022 Receive and sort vendor invoices and match invoices with purchase orders, if applicable. u2022 Utilizes the Purchase Tracking System (PTS) to submit invoices to DFS personnel for payment approval. u2022 Utilize SFS to review and verify receipt of goods, and process accounts payable vouchers. u2022 Communicate with vendors via telephone and/or email to resolve discrepancies with invoices. u2022 Submit forms/emails to OSC or the State Treasury to request copies of canceled checks or to place stop payment orders. u2022 Prepares and makes bank deposits electronically. u2022 Perform general clerical duties including opening mail and filing. u2022 Perform other duties as assigned. Skill Requirements: 1. Highly organized and careful worker, highly self-motivated and capable of prioritizing and managing multiple tasks. 2. Knowledge of Office of the State Comptroller policies and procedures. 3. High level of discretion handling confidential matters. 4. Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. 5. Word processing skills/abilities are a mandatory component of the assignment. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. is required. 6. Must have knowledge of basic accounting and financial record keeping procedures. Some knowledge of financial terminology is also required; ability to compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers. May also perform a variety of analysis. Notes: A background check and fingerprinting will be required. The background check should include criminal, SSN, education and previous employment verification. All job offers are tentative pending satisfactory background and fingerprint check. DFS does not provide parking, but the office is accessible by mass transit. 3.
