We are seeking a talented copy editor who is a confident headline and summary writer, an expert on AP style and understands how to make the most of digital content. This job is based in Chicago. Position Description + Proofread stories, text within videos, and social media content + Craft compelling and searchable headlines and subheads that inform, encourage readers to click into story, and have a tone that reflects the NewsNation identity. + Write headlines and captions on YouTube that inform and convince people to watch + Utilize SEO best practices. + Edit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience to ensure standards for journalistic integrity and production quality are met. + Social media publishing + Homepage management + Clip broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels. Qualifications + 3+ years working as a copy editor or similar role in a major newsroom + Work in national newsrooms and, specifically, national televisions newsrooms is a plus + Strong knowledge of search engine optimization + Experience working with content management systems like WordPress + Experience working with video inside Anvato, BitCentral, OBS or Latakoo a plus. + Excellent communicator, both oral written + Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 Annually + #LI-On-site Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
