Mechanical Engineer

Horner and Shifrin is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years' experience. This position requires understanding of mechanical designs and calculations for HVAC systems. Responsibilities include design, load analysis, site surveys, RFI, and submittal reviews.POSITION RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES:- Design of Mechanical HVAC, Chilled and Hot Water Piping, Steam and Building Automation systems for education, commercial, municipal and healthcare buildings.- Responsible for preparing Mechanical systems project construction documents and specifications.- QA/QC other Mechanical engineers- Coordinate design information between disciplinesPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:- Licensed Professional Engineer- Knowledge of Plumbing, Medical Gas, Natural Gas and Fire Protection systems and design is a benefit.- Knowledge of Trace 3D- Knowledge of REVIT- Ability to research related codes and standards to ensure design compliance- Ability to traverse sites, including walking through projects under construction- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal- Critical thinking and analysis- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word)- Must possess a valid drivers license- Must complete a background checkEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in Mechanical systems.SALARY RANGE:Horner and Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $110,000-$145,000.
