DutiesUnder the direct supervision of an employee of higher grade, performs custodial duties such as clean all reachable walls and HVAC diffusers and ceiling fans and all reachable window glass inside and outside offices, doors, etc.; complete cleaning of all cell area walls and fixtures; clean all stairwells; shampoo all carpets; sweep, wash, strip, wax and buff all floors; dust; change light bulbs; police grounds; sweep walks; cut lawns; remove snow and ice; care for custodial equipment; empty wastebaskets; remove trash; operate low pressure heating and ventilation systems; order custodial supplies; make minor repairs to buildings, equipment, heating, lighting, air conditioning, ventilation and plumbing systems. Perform other similar duties as assigned.QualificationsMust have physical ability to do the work.Must possess a valid Massachusetts Class D drivers license.Work environmentWork requires agility and physical strength, ability to function in close quarters, and is subject to noise, vibrations, hazards and atmospheric conditions including fumes, dust and air contaminants.
