Job Title Postal Service Processor Division Division of Finance & Administration Department University Post Office Position Category Staff FLSA Non-Exempt Pay Range 04 Salary Range $33,580 - $42,027 / year (with potential growth to $50,620) Fund Source State Support Job Summary This employee is responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the university post office, which includes retrieving, sorting, and distributing administrative, faculty, staff, and student mail packages. Job Duties Duties & Responsibilities: Retrieve mail and packages from the Northwood Post Office and outside vendors Scan packages and be accountable for mail for staff and students via the Send Suite Tracking System Prepare and process all outgoing campus mail and shipments via courier service Make emergency deliveries, as needed Deliver mail and packages to Thurgood Marshall Make deliveries for the Print Shop Retrieve packages that were wrongly delivered Monitor the post office vans for needed repairs and update the monthly mileage log Fill in and assist with the duties of others, as needed Assist customers at the service window Perform other duties as assigned Requested Minimum Qualifications Education:A High School Diploma or GED is required.Experience: One year of related work experience is required.A valid Maryland Non-Commercial Class C or equivalent driver’s license is also a requirement. Other Preferences for Consideration OTHER:Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year- basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESCandidates must have the ability to: Sort and process mail; lift and carry mail bags and boxes up to 70lbs Communicate effectively and understand follow directions Operate standard office postal equipment and postal services machines Perform extensive standing, bending and walking
