Litigation Paralegal

Description A California plaintiff-side law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to step into an active caseload during a maternity leave. This is a full remote contract role with an anticipated duration of up to 6 months, supporting ongoing litigation matters with a strong emphasis on discovery and case progression. The firm handles complex plaintiff-side matters, including toxic tort and environmental exposure cases, and operates in a fast-paced, lean environment. This role is best suited for a paralegal with strong discovery preparation experience who can take ownership of litigation workflows, communicate directly with clients, and operate independently in a remote setting. Responsibilities + Prepare and manage written discovery, including interrogatories and requests for production + Work from established discovery templates and tailor responses to case-specific facts + Gather, organize, and synthesize information from clients and case materials + Communicate directly with clients to support intake and discovery development + Assist with drafting and preparing pleadings and other litigation documents + Coordinate filings through third-party filing services + Support attorneys across active litigation matters from intake through discovery phases Requirements Qualifications + 3+ years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal supporting California matters + Demonstrated, hands-on experience managing discovery from start to finish + Background in plaintiff-side litigation or personal injury environments + Experience supporting toxic tort or complex plaintiff-side matters is strongly preferred + Comfortable communicating directly with clients and handling sensitive information + Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines independently + Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment with minimal oversight Additional Details + Fully remote role with a consistent 40-hour/week schedule + Candidates may be based outside California but must have prior experience working under California litigation rules + Background check required prior to start + The firm is looking to onboard quickly to allow for training overlap before the current paralegal begins leave This is an opportunity to step into a hands-on litigation role with meaningful responsibility, supporting active plaintiff-side matters in a remote, execution-focused environment.
