Description We are proactively tracking talent for a growing manufacturing organization seeking a Cost Accounting Manager with 7u201310 years of progressive cost accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities. This role will oversee all cost accounting functions, ensure accurate inventory valuation and financial reporting, and partner closely with operations and leadership to drive cost efficiency and margin improvement. Key Responsibilities u2022 Oversee and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and standard costing processes across all products u2022 Lead standard cost development and maintenance, including cost roll-ups and system updates u2022 Analyze labor, material, and overhead costs, providing insights to improve operational efficiency u2022 Review and analyze cost variances (PPV, labor efficiency, overhead absorption) and present findings to leadership u2022 Oversee inventory accounting, including WIP, finished goods, cycle counts, and reconciliations u2022 Lead the month-end close process related to cost accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations u2022 Partner with operations, supply chain, and production teams to identify cost drivers and implement process improvements u2022 Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning initiatives across the organization u2022 Manage and mentor cost accounting staff, providing guidance and development u2022 Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and company accounting policies u2022 Drive ERP system enhancements and ensure accuracy of costing and inventory data Requirements Requirements u2022 7u201310 years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment u2022 Prior leadership or supervisory experience within an accounting or finance team u2022 Strong expertise in BOMs, standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required) u2022 Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including: u2022 Pivot tables u2022 VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP u2022 SUMIFS u2022 Experience working within an ERP system (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, NetSuite, etc.) u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to present financial insights to leadership u2022 Excellent communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally with operations and finance teams u2022 Experience supporting audits and maintaining strong internal controls Robert Half is the worldu2019s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
