Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Lindenhurst, New York. This contract position with the potential for long-term employment offers an excellent opportunity to expand your accounting expertise in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with invoice processing, payment management, and proficiency in QuickBooks Online. This position begins as a part-time position with a 25u201330-hour work week. The office schedule is flexible. The position will expand into a full-time 40-hour work week within 4-8 weeks. Responsibilities: u2022 Process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely completion. u2022 Review and code invoices in accordance with company standards and procedures. u2022 Prepare and execute check runs, verifying all payment details for accuracy. u2022 Maintain organized records of invoices and payments for auditing purposes. u2022 Utilize QuickBooks Online to manage financial data and generate reports. u2022 Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure payment schedules are met. u2022 Support the team's transition to new financial systems as needed. u2022 Collaborate with other departments to address administrative and accounting needs. u2022 Assist in month-end close processes by reconciling accounts and preparing necessary documentation. u2022 Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in all accounts payable activities. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a similar role. u2022 Proficiency in QuickBooks Online for managing financial transactions. u2022 Strong ability to code invoices and perform check runs accurately. u2022 Familiarity with invoice processing and payment reconciliation. u2022 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. u2022 Effective communication skills for vendor and team interactions. u2022 Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. u2022 Knowledge of accounting principles and practices preferred.
