Electrical Systems Engineer

Job Title: Electrical Systems EngineerJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish electrical system requirements and developing and releasing components for production systems. Responsibilities + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define electrical system requirements. + Develop and release electrical system components in the production system. + Create, organize, and document bills of material for electrical systems on Fire Apparatus. + Work with outside suppliers on component feasibility, development, and integration. + Provide build support at various stages throughout the product development process. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline. + 0-3 years of experience in vehicle electrical system design, integration, or testing. + Experience with electrical component development, wiring harnesses, and schematics. + Understanding of software/hardware interaction. + Experience managing project deliverables. + Knowledge of general product development processes. + Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively. + Clear and concise oral and written communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Hands-on experience with mechanical troubleshooting and 12V electrical systems. + 2D/3D design experience through classroom or internship. Work Environment The work environment is a smaller shop with a mix of 50/50 office and floor time, shifting to 75/25 during heavy design periods. The company is rapidly growing and supports the first responder industry by manufacturing fire trucks with various applications. Employees will receive direct training from the OEM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alexis, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $36.00/hr.
