Description The primary function of a Software Support Engineer programs and configures security-related systems as required by the customer and directed by the manager. Typical Duties and Responsibilities: complete software Installation and configuration for various access control, video surveillance, and alarm intrusion systems. Provide integration support for customersu2019 existing systems with their access and video security solutions. Provide support to CGL internal teams that repair and maintain customer systems; perform regular maintenance to prevent breakdowns; diagnose problems with customers computerized systems and determine the course of action and perform the repair. Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled software related projects to verify coordinate needed information and or personnel. What you will do as a Software Support Engineer: u2022 Provide software Installation, integration and configuration and service of access control systems including but not limited to Software House, Genetec, S2 netbox and net controllers,Openpath. u2022 Installation, integration and service of various video surveillance solutions including but not limited to Genetec, American Dynamics, Exacq, Milestone. u2022 Configure and program network architecture to support access and video solutions. u2022 Perform IP network configuration for camera and access control systems u2022 Maintain certifications for camera and access control systems u2022 Provide customer system training What you bring to the table: u2022 Proven ability to interact with all levels and departments including corporate project stakeholders, associated design disciplines, and construction/system integration contractors. u2022 The ability to work closely with Information Technology professionals to ensure project and customer expectations are met. u2022 Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills. u2022 Must be a responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well organized. u2022 Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers. u2022 Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. u2022 Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations. u2022 Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation. u2022 Associate is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers. u2022 Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities also required. u2022 Valid and current driveru2019s license. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: u2022 5-7 yearsu2019 experience preferred u2022 Manufacturer certifications such as Software House, Genetec, and/or Exacq are desirable. u2022 Requires ability to pass CORI check and obtain MA certificate of clearance u2022 Familiarity with SQL programming language is a plus TRAVEL: Local travel required, primarily within the Greater Boston metropolitan region but may include other areas within Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westwood, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
