Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Minneapolis. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, managing cash flow, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Commercial Real estate Accounting preferred. Responsibilities: u2022 Collaborate with property and project managers to maintain accurate financial reporting, budgets, and construction draw processes. u2022 Handle treasury functions, including cash management and preparing cash flow projections. u2022 Prepare funding requests for investors and manage standard reference requests for new banking relationships. u2022 Review accounts receivable aging reports, assess collectability, and recommend write-offs or reserves as needed. u2022 Oversee accounts payable processes, including issuing checks, setting up wire payments, maintaining vendor files, and addressing vendor inquiries. u2022 Manage lease administration processes to ensure proper accounting treatment for complex leases. u2022 Prepare operating and tax expense reconciliations based on governing documents such as leases and management agreements. u2022 Review journal entries prepared by staff and record entries for more complex accounting areas. u2022 Ensure compliance with organizational accounting policies and standards. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management. u2022 Strong expertise in month-end close, general ledger management, and journal entries. u2022 Proficiency in account and bank reconciliations. u2022 Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as Yardi and JDE EnterpriseOne. u2022 Excellent analytical and organizational skills. u2022 Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments. u2022 Strong understanding of lease administration and accounting principles. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
