Assists with or applies and removes casts and splints, including trimming and modification of casts and DME fitting for patients. + Supplies and applies soft goods and off-the-shelf braces to patients as ordered by Physicians and Advance Practice Providers. + Assists with placing patients into traction and adjusts traction equipment as ordered by Physicians and Advance Practice Providers. + Provides inpatient and/or outpatient services consistent with the daily duties of an orthopedic practice. + Completes patient intake and rooming, including height, weight, and patient history. + Communicates information clearly and precisely to team members to ensure coverage is not affected by staffing changes. + Provides patient education on cast care and DME equipment. + Documents accurately, thoroughly, and timely using measurable terminology and acceptable abbreviations. + Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports departmental quality standards and initiatives. + Manages documentation, supply ordering, and relationships with DME providers. + Other duties as assigned. + Adjusts and adapts to changes in patient volume by altering working hours to assist in other centers, programs, inclusive of on-call scheduled as defined by department and as applicable.
