Job Description The UW Medical Center - Northwest Pharmacy Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient . WORK SCHEDULE u2022 Per Diem u2022 Rotating/Variable Shift POSITION HIGHLIGHTS u2022 Perform a variety of pharmaceutical tasks under the general supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist u2022 Engage in accurate and timely medication procurement, medication packaging and dispensing, filling medication orders, and preparing compounded sterile products u2022 Promote appropriate, safe, and effective medication use DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medicine's Pharmacy Department provides high-quality and comprehensive pharmacy services to our patients and providers. Our team of specially trained pharmacists and technicians work closely with doctors and nurses to ensure our patients receive the best medication therapy for their condition. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES u2022 Accurate and timely medication procurement, preparation and dispensing u2022 Restock drug storage areas and refill automated drug dispensing devices in all hospital areas u2022 Packaging of medications into single unit doses and preparation of patient-specific doses as needed u2022 Triage incoming phone calls and clinical inquiries requiring a pharmacistu2019s professional judgement within the Pharmacy Department REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Completion of an accredited/approved pharmacy technician training program LEGAL REQUIREMENT State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification _CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT_ _UW Medicine is committed to being a drug-free workplace.
