A reasonable estimate for this position is $140,000-$170,000. Position description POSITION: Field Work Consultant/Project Coordinator, Fiscal Year (11month), 100% time OVERVIEW: Responsible for the operation and implementation of practicum education experiences for students that focus on the delivery of the Council on Social Work Education competencies and CA Title IV-E competencies. Includes the development of educational programs for students and collaboration and coordination with public and private agencies in Los Angeles, and surrounding counties. Candidate will be expected to teach courses and to support the recruitment of students for CA Title IV-E stipend training programs. Candidate must have expertise in public child welfare and will focus on the California Title IV-E program RESPONSIBILITIES: u2022 Works and collaborates with the California Title IV-E Project Coordinator and other the California Title IV-E instructional and field faculty in the development and teaching of the enhanced California Title IV-E model which includes: PCW Practice Series, Specialized Seminars, and Field Projects. u2022 Supports the job search procedures and requirements and employment monitoring systems for Title IV-E students u2022 Consults with practicum agency practicum instructors and/or preceptors to develop internship sites for students. u2022 Identifies, develops, and provides training, seminars and other practicum work support that focus on the delivery of the assigned programu2019s competencies. u2022 Works and collaborates with the Principal Investigator, Director of Practicum Education, and other Practicum Education Faculty to plan and implement educational experiences and activities for the practicum education program. u2022 Facilitates and functions as practicum faculty in assigned practicum seminar, student orientation and practicum instructor trainings. Liaison role for supervising u2022 Interprets school policies and requirements; monitors and evaluates studentsu2019 progress; advises assigned program students; evaluates practicum instructors and agencyu2019s performance; mediates problems and/or disputes. u2022 Contributes to relevant written materials as needed, e.g. practicum manual, learning agreements, school policies that impact the practicum education curriculum and support the internships. u2022 Monitors and evaluates liability, malpractice, and risk management issues for students and agencies. Provide due process, input, and feedback for agencies, practicum instructors, and students. u2022 Participates in departmental committees, curriculum development and special projects, as assigned. u2022 Teaches in the MSW program. REQUIREMENTS: u2022 Incumbent must possess a Master's Degree in Social Work; LCSW is preferred. u2022 Demonstrated success in agency-based social work practice specific to program area. u2022 Supervisory experience of both staff and students in the role of practicum instructor. u2022 Incumbent must have excellent written and oral communication skills. u2022 Ability to work effectively with populations experiencing multiple barriers to accessing services u2022 Minimum five years of practice experience with a minimum of two years of experience in public child welfare and specifically in Child Protective Services (i.e., LAC DCFS). u2022 Experience teaching at the instructor level at a University, including experience as a practicum liaison. u2022 Minimum three years of experience as a practicum instructor for a title IV-E PCW program.
