Overview UIC Oil & Gas Support, LLC (OGS), a subsidiary of UIC Commercial Services, is seeking an experienced and results-oriented General Manager to lead its Arctic logistics and field operations across Alaskau2019s North Slope. This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for the operational performance, financial results, and strategic direction of the business. The General Manager serves as the central leader driving both day-to-day execution and long-term success, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and performance. The role requires a balance of operational leadership and business acumen, with accountability for delivering safe, reliable, and efficient services in remote and logistically complex environments. Responsibilities As General Manager, you will serve as the central force driving both day-to-day execution and long-term success of UIC Oil & Gas. Essential functions will include: + Lead the Business + Provide overall leadership and direction for OGS operations, ensuring alignment with UIC Commercial Servicesu2019 strategic objectives. + Establish and maintain a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance across all levels of the organization. + Oversee day-to-day operations while guiding long-term business planning and execution. Drive Operational Excellence + Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of Arctic logistics operations across remote and challenging environments. + Oversee year-round operations, including winter access and tundra travel activities. + Implement and maintain operational systems, processes, and performance standards to support consistent service delivery. + Monitor performance metrics and lead continuous improvement efforts. Own the Numbers + Maintain full responsibility for profit and loss (P&L) performance. + Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. + Monitor financial performance, control costs, and drive accountability to achieve organizational targets. + Analyze financial and operational data to support informed decision-making. Shape Strategy and Growth + Develop and execute strategic initiatives to support business growth and market expansion. + Identify and pursue new opportunities across oil and gas, telecommunications, infrastructure, and related sectors. + Strengthen OGSu2019s long-term market position as a leading Arctic logistics provider. Lead Business Development + Lead client engagement efforts, including proposal development and contract negotiations. + Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders. + Represent OGS in business development and industry engagements. Develop and Lead People + Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing workforce across operations and support functions. + Promote employee engagement, professional development, and succession planning. + Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment aligned with UIC values. Oversee Assets and Execution + Ensure effective utilization and management of equipment, fleet, and operational resources. + Coordinate procurement and resource allocation to support operational and financial performance. + Ensure assets are maintained and deployed efficiently. Build Relationships That Matter + Collaborate with internal UIC departments and leadership to align priorities and resources. + Interface with regulatory agencies, landowners, and community stakeholders. + Support cross-functional coordination to ensure successful project delivery. Stay Engaged and Responsive + Remain actively involved in operational decision-making and field execution. + Respond effectively to evolving operational conditions and business needs. + Maintain clear and consistent communication across all levels of the organization. Additional Responsibilities + Perform other duties as assigned in support of organizational objectives. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: + Bacheloru2019s degree in business administration, engineering, construction management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. + Minimum of 12 years of relevant industry experience. + Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, logistics, construction, or related industries. + Demonstrated experience managing P&L and delivering financial performance. + Proven ability to lead operations in remote or logistically complex environments. + Experience in business development, contract management, and client relations. + Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with financial systems, ERP platforms, and project management tools preferred. Physical and Mental Demands: + Ability to work in both office and field environments, including remote Arctic locations. + Ability to travel as required to operational sites. + Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. + Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
