CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN Company: Automated Precision Inc. Location: Newport News, VA Job Type: Full-Time Entry-Level Industry: Metrology / Precision Measurement Automated Precision Inc. is seeking a Calibration Technician to join our growing team in Newport News, VA. This position plays a critical role in supporting our high-precision metrology lab by performing in-house calibrations and assisting with the repair of laser-based measurement systems. Key Responsibilities u2022 Calibrate high-precision laser measurement systems and other instruments per documented procedures u2022 Receive and check in customer equipment for calibration u2022 Complete accurate documentation (digital and/or paper) for all work performed u2022 Assist with proper packaging and shipment of equipment to customers u2022 Maintain a clean and safe lab environment u2022 Support the shipment of equipment to and from field engineers and customers u2022 Communicate inventory needs to Supervisor/Manager u2022 Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction Reporting Structure u2022 Reports directly to the Calibration and Repair Supervisor u2022 Collaborate with Calibration Technicians, Service Engineers, and other internal teams Preferred Qualifications u2022 Associate degree or equivalent required u2022 Coursework or interest in mechatronics, electronics, or mechanical systems preferred u2022 Experience with optical or electro-mechanical assembly a plus u2022 Familiarity with hand tools and measurement tools (e.g., calipers, multimeters, micrometers) u2022 Understanding of calibration traceability and industry best practices u2022 Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel u2022 Strong attention to detail, organizational, and math skills u2022 Effective written and verbal communication Why Join Us? u2022 Hands-on training in precision measurement technology u2022 Opportunities for growth and advancement in the metrology field u2022 Supportive, team-oriented work environment u2022 Be part of a company committed to technical excellence and customer satisfaction If you enjoy working with high-tech equipment, solving real-world challenges, and want to build a career in a cutting-edge technical field - we'd love to hear from you.
