Responsible for performing specialized functions along with technical radiology procedures. Serves as the liaison and primary point of contact between management, staff and physicians for routine matters. Answers questions and resolves issues for the subordinate roles as well as other members of the care team to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care and adherence to practice standards. This position ensures optimal patient safety, quality outcomes, and customer service. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Performs special procedure (Interventional) exams as well as diagnostic radiology procedures and assists with patient preparation before procedures and performs proper sterile techniques as indicated in support of the invasive procedure. 2. Supports imaging procedural flow collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team in timely and efficient manner. 2. Supervises technologists daily duties ensuring a team approach with extraordinary quality patient interactions during the continuum of care. 3. Manages inventory to ensure appropriate par level are maintain and communicated to the designee. 4. Effectively communicates, maintains, and records quality measures for equipment maintenance. 5. Mentors and precepts new team members through competency based performance as per AHS educational standards. 6. Documents electronic health medical records. 7. Performs high level of sterile technique and maintains infection prevention standards. 8. Adheres to all policies and procedures of AHS. 9. Performs other related duties as assigned.Follows safety standards and conducts all imaging procedures accordingly. Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures, regularly practices aseptic techniques, and ensures compliance with radiation safety and infection control procedures. SERVICE - 30Provides direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic procedures, including assisting with sterile technique. (EF)Proactively assesses, identifies and responds to the needs of the patient for adjustment or intervention to optimize patient care, image quality and patient experience. This includes: positioning, physiology, procedure preparation, and technical factors. Modifies technical factors to achieve desired imaging results and recognizes complications and limitations associated with certain procedures. (EF)Serves as liaison between team members, management and physicians, resolving routine matters for the shift and modality. Assists physicians during procedures. (EF)Provides accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members at an appropriate level utilizing verbal and non-verbal skills, terminology and language. (EF) Required: 1. Graduate of an AMA approved Radiography Program. 2. RT & ARRT Licensure. 3. CPR Certification. 4. 3+ years of experience in IR and scrubbing procedures or in a related field. Preferred: 1. 4 years experience as a Special Procedures or Endovascular Technologist or in a related field.
