Project Kuiper is an Amazon initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of over 3,000 Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide. At Project Kuiper, we are obsessed with customer trust and are seeking an SDM who is creative, and passionate about delivering Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) solutions to meet Kuiper's regulatory and external assurance needs. In this role you will be responsible for building and supporting GRC tooling for the Amazon Leo Security Assurance team. You will work closely with other compliance engineering teams across Amazon, including the AWS Security Assurance Engineering team and Amazon Privacy, Regulation Tech, and Assurance, to collaborate and develop software to ensure the right tools and automations are available for understanding, assessing, and externalizing our alignment against security expectations. You'll also help build automations for, including Key job responsibilitiesKey job responsibilities include:- Translate functional and technical compliance requirements into detailed architecture, design and extensible code- Use AI/ML tools to build automations for cataloging and responding to requests for information- Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions for security tooling at scale- Technically lead a team of smart engineers on complex projects- Be an advocate of industry best-practices to produce reliable, fault-tolerant, and single tenant programs- Own system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance- Mentor other engineers, defining our challenging technical culture, and helping to build a fast-growing teamA day in the lifeYou will work with senior management and technical leaders to define product directions and deliver them to customers. Your day begins with a stand-up meeting where your team provides updates on current GRC tool development and automation projects. You'll spend time reviewing architecture proposals for new features, then meet with team members to understand their specific workflows and needs.
