Cost Accountant

Description Cost Accountant u2013 Construction Industry Compensation: $38 - $50 hourly Overview: Robert Half is seeking experienced Cost Accountants to join our client's team in the Construction industry or similar. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate tracking of project expenditures, supporting effective budgeting, and facilitating transparent financial reporting to stakeholders. Responsibilities: + Prepare and analyze cost reports for multiple construction projects + Review project budgets and track actual costs against estimates + Monitor job cost allocations and variance explanations + Collaborate with project managers to verify purchase orders, invoices, and expenses + Review labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs for accuracy and documentation + Evaluate change orders and their financial impact + Support month-end and year-end close related to project accounting + Maintain cost accounting records and construction project files + Assist with forecasting and identifying areas for cost improvement + Provide financial summaries to management and support strategic business decisions Requirements Qualifications: + Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field + 2+ yearsu2019 experience in cost accounting, preferably in construction + Familiarity with construction project accounting systems and software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or similar) + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools + Strong analytical and communication skills + Knowledge of GAAP and construction industry accounting standards Next Steps: If youu2019re ready to advance your accounting career and contribute to the success of our construction projects, please submit your resume today.
