This opportunity is for a clinical pharmacist role at a well-established community hospital with over 200 beds in Alexandria, LA. The position requires a dedicated professional with strong pharmacy clinical and retail skills who can support patient care through comprehensive medication management and collaboration with healthcare teams.Location: Alexandria, LouisianaJob Type: Contract (13 weeks)Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week Rotating schedule with shifts that may include 6:00 AM4:30 PM, 7:00 AM5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM11:00 PM Every other weekend on-call Key Responsibilities: Verifying medication orders promptly and accurately Supervising pharmacy technicians and managing workflow Consulting with physicians and nurses to optimize pharmacotherapeutic outcomes Conducting pharmacokinetic evaluations and therapeutic drug monitoring Utilizing EPIC and Pyxis systems effectively to support patient safety and medication dispensing Desired Experience and Qualifications: Valid pharmacist license with all verifications up to date Current BLS certification via the American Heart Association Experience working in a clinical hospital setting preferred Proficiency in EPIC and Pyxis or similar healthcare IT systems Strong communication and supervisory skills This contract offers the chance to contribute directly to high-quality patient care within a dynamic and supportive team environment.
