Description We are looking for an experienced Network Architect to lead the design and implementation of advanced network solutions in Brunswick, Georgia. This position involves shaping high-performing, scalable, and resilient infrastructures while ensuring optimal connectivity and service delivery. As a Contract to permanent opportunity, this role offers the chance to make a significant impact while contributing to the growth of a carrier-grade network. Responsibilities: u2022 Design and implement network architectures, including routing, switching, and redundancy, to support scalable Layer 3 services and robust backbone connectivity. u2022 Develop strategies for Layer 2 transport delivery to residential communities, establishing standards for aggregation, handoff, and service demarcation. u2022 Oversee routing and resiliency planning, including peering strategies, traffic engineering, and readiness for future technologies. u2022 Manage IPv4/IPv6 transition planning, defining capacity models and ensuring performance benchmarks are met. u2022 Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including diagrams, operational procedures, and methods of procedure (MOPs). u2022 Mentor Network Engineers and collaborate with vendors to ensure effective deployment of Juniper, Nokia, and Calix platforms. u2022 Provide leadership during major incidents and planned maintenance activities, including on-call support. u2022 Establish and enforce disciplined change management practices for network operations. Requirements u2022 A minimum of 7 years of experience in core networking, with demonstrated expertise in architecture design and ownership. u2022 Proficiency in designing and managing multi-vendor networks, particularly using Juniper, Nokia, or Calix carrier-grade platforms. u2022 Strong knowledge of advanced networking protocols such as Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Layer 3 switching. u2022 Hands-on experience with high availability and scalable addressing solutions in metro or carrier-grade networks. u2022 Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives. u2022 Relevant certifications in networking technologies (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Nokia) are highly desirable. u2022 Physical ability to work in datacenters, including lifting up to 50 lbs during deployments. u2022 Willingness to travel locally to points of presence (POPs) and residential properties as needed.
