Payroll Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to manage bi-weekly, multi-state payroll operations for a dynamic and growing organization in Parsippany, New Jersey. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of payroll processes while collaborating with HR and Accounting teams. The role also provides exposure to accounting, compliance, and system optimization, making it ideal for professionals eager to broaden their expertise. Responsibilities: u2022 Process bi-weekly payroll across multiple states for hourly, salaried, and contract employees. u2022 Ensure the accuracy of timekeeping and attendance data for various pay groups. u2022 Administer commissions, bonuses, garnishments, deductions, and tax withholdings. u2022 Set up and maintain payroll tax accounts across different jurisdictions. u2022 Handle payroll tax filings, payments, and year-end processes such as W-2 preparation. u2022 Prepare payroll journal entries, perform reconciliations, and allocate labor costs. u2022 Generate payroll reports and assist with audits and system updates. u2022 Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams on workforce changes and special projects. u2022 Maintain compliance with payroll regulations and tax requirements. u2022 Support the integration of payroll systems with general ledger processes. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 3u20135 years of payroll experience in a multi-entity, multi-state environment. u2022 Proven expertise in payroll tax compliance and account setup. u2022 Hands-on experience with payroll systems, preferably UKG Pro or similar platforms. u2022 Solid understanding of payroll accounting, including general ledger integrations and reconciliations. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite applications. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field is preferred. u2022 Certifications in payroll or HR (e.g., CPP, PHR) are advantageous. u2022 Familiarity with managing complex pay structures, including bonuses and commissions.
