Medical Assistant Back Office

Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Medical Assistant to join our Pain Management team. This back-office role involves providing essential support to healthcare providers and ensuring smooth patient flow. Responsibilities + Conduct patient intakes and manage room loading. + Room patients and assist the provider in patient care. + Assist with setting up and breaking down office procedures. + Measure manual blood pressure. + Update inboxes and scan documents for the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. + Sterilize medical instruments and update medication charts. + Restock rooms and supply closets, and complete inventory management. + Triage phone calls for physician and patient inquiries. + Update patient records and input orders into the EMR, preferably using Athena. + Maintain and update electronic medical records. Essential Skills + Completion of a Medical Assisting Course. + At least 6 months of medical assisting experience. + Experience with EMR systems, preferably Athena or Epic. + High school diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred but not mandatory. + Experience in Pain Management or Orthopedics is preferred. + High-volume experience is advantageous. + Strong customer service and bedside skills. + Ability to multitask, solve problems, and manage patient flow efficiently. Work Environment The position operates Monday through Friday, with a shorter shift on Monday afternoons due to procedural work, and full days from Tuesday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasionally, you may be required to work on a Saturday if added to the schedule. You will be the only Medical Assistant working with the doctor in a fast-paced environment, handling both hands-on patient rooming and administrative tasks. You will work with patients repeatedly, building long-term relationships. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Florham Park, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
