Job Title: Human Resources Generalist Job Description The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in delivering exceptional employee experiences through outstanding customer service, accurate records management, and proactive support of HR operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being a go-to resource for employees and thrives in a hands-on HR environment supporting payroll, benefits, and employee engagement. Responsibilities + Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, providing timely, professional, and service-oriented support. + Process bi-monthly payroll. + Administer the 401(k) plan. + Administer employee benefits and support the annual open enrollment process. + Support employee engagement initiatives, events, and internal communications. + Support community service initiatives. + Maintain a welcoming, responsive, and confidential HR presence for employees and leadership. + Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, files, and HR systems. + Assist with audits, reporting, and HR data tracking as needed. + Assist with employee onboarding, offboarding, and transitions. + Assist with company and employee insurance licensing and renewals. + Provide support to the Controller with accounting-related tasks as needed. + Assist with recruiting and hiring processes as needed. Essential Skills + 3+ years of HR experience. + Payroll experience is required. + Experience with Paylocity preffered. + SHRM, CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. + Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Demonstrated customer service mindset and ability to handle confidential information. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associateu2019s or Bacheloru2019s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. + Experience with payroll, 401(k), and benefits administration. + Experience supporting employee engagement initiatives. + Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. + Collaborative, approachable, and solution-oriented mindset. + Knowledge of basic accounting principles or willingness to learn. + SHRM, CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with Paylocity are important for success in this role. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfax, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $36.05/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
