Job Description The Director of Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) is responsible for directing, managing, planning, and developing the strategic direction of the Engineering & Maintenance department, with focus on providing excellent patient experience through service to the care providers, maintenance of facilities, construction, and activation of hospitals, ambulatory clinics and facilities. These responsibilities include planning, developing, directing, coordinating and evaluating the activities of the E&M department including collaboration and partnership with other departments. Manage personnel, per the policies, procedures, goals, mission, and vision of the client, and regulatory requirements of bodies such as The Joint Commission. Represents E&M efforts, opportunities, process improvements, and resource requirements to senior leadership. Relevant experience in lieu of degree may be considered. Relevant experience in lieu of degree is in addition to the experience requirements for this position u2022 Seven (7) years of leadership experience in a facilities engineering, at least five (5) of those years in Hospital or Ambulatory Clinic environment. u2022 Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. u2022 Ability to develop long-range business plans and strategies. u2022 Ability to manage complex projects and resources (people, costs, time). u2022 Ability to strategize, plan and implement change. u2022 Ability to understand, draft and negotiate contractual agreements. u2022 Ability to work effectively both as a team player and leader. u2022 Knowledge and understanding of financial and statistical activity reports. u2022 Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, administration, fiscal and personnel management. u2022 Experience with operationalizing new construction. u2022 Knowledge of and experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Applications. u2022 Knowledge of and experience with Building Automation Systems. u2022 Knowledge of and experience with inpatient/outpatient regulatory requirements. u2022 Knowledge of and experience with building and fire life safety codes. u2022 Knowledge of and experience with incident command emergency response. u2022 Experience with developing metrics and dashboards. Familiarity with Lean, JIT, or Six Sigma techniques. u2022 Ability to act as both the u201cthought-leaderu201d and operational expertu201d around IT-Driven and IT-enabled process transformation - Healthcare background
