Accounting Assistant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Cambridge, Massachusetts for a renown higher education institution. In this role, you will support daily financial operations, including invoice processing, expense reconciliation, and travel report management. Responsibilities: u2022 Process and match invoices with a high level of accuracy. u2022 Reconcile monthly expenses to ensure financial records are up-to-date. u2022 Prepare and review detailed travel expense reports. u2022 Support the verification and approval of various financial transactions. u2022 Assist in budget analysis and projections for operational activities. u2022 Coordinate with internal departments to manage revenue receipts and transfers. u2022 Maintain and update financial records in compliance with organizational policies. u2022 Help streamline business processes for improved accuracy and efficiency. u2022 Collaborate with finance teams on audits and reporting requirements. u2022 Provide general accounting support for programs, classes, and events. Requirements u2022 1-3 years of experience in accounting or a related field. u2022 Strong attention to detail with a focus on numerical accuracy. u2022 Proficiency in managing reconciliations and expense reporting. u2022 Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively. u2022 Familiarity with financial software, though specific platform experience is not required. u2022 Excellent organizational and communication skills. u2022 Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and tasks. u2022 Experience in the education industry is a plus.
