Senior Systems Engineer

Job Description Our client is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join their Infrastructure team. We are looking for someone to take meaningful ownership across a broad portfolio of critical infrastructure in a service provider environment. This role spans customer-facing platforms, shared engineering services, and cross-functional initiatives u2014 requiring someone equally comfortable operating independently and working alongside peer teams. This is a high-visibility, high-ownership position. The right candidate brings strong technical depth, an automation mindset, and the discipline to see work through from design to documentation. You will own technical workstreams from planning through implementation, validation, and operational handoff. You will administer and improve Linux-based production systems across multiple service domains and support customer-facing network performance and service delivery platforms. You will develop and maintain configuration automation, templated deployments, and version-controlled workflows as well as identify and eliminate manual effort through scripting, standardization, and operational tooling. You will review logs, metrics, and telemetry to investigate issues, validate changes, and surface risk and participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident documentation. You will support enterprise virtualization platforms including VM lifecycle, clustering, and storage and support physical server and compute infrastructure and associated operational dependencies. This is a contract to hire position converting to FTE after 6 months and the role is fully remote.
