Actalent has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant at our East Coast Corporate office in Hanover, MD.CompensationTarget Salary | $51,000 - $65,000Bonus potential | $1,000 QuarterlyScheduleFull Time | PermanentMonday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMHybrid | 4 days in office - 1 day remoteOverviewThe Staff Accountant is responsible for performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analysis, which are directly related to the management and general business operations of the organization and its customers. The position also prepares and enters monthly journal entries, processes accounts receivable adjustments, and assists with annual audit. The position has the authority to formulate, interpret, and implement accounting policies and procedures, and to negotiate and resolve accounting issues. A qualified candidate must have strong analytical skills and be able to get to the root cause of issues with moderate guidance and must be extremely detailed oriented and organized. The individual also needs to be professional, accountable, and action-oriented.Essential FunctionsPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analysis, including bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and various other assets and liabilities, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of the financial statements.Prepare and enter monthly journal entries and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.Process accounts receivable adjustments and consult with the A/R teams on the proper accounting treatment and documentation.Maintain accounting process documentation, and update it as needed to reflect changes in accounting policies and procedures.Assist with annual audit and provide audit support and documentation as requested by the external auditors.Qualifications | Skills | AbilitiesBachelor's Degree in Accounting RequiredProficient in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, ExcelStrong organizational and analytical abilitiesProfessional verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently as well as on a teamAbility to work through and solve problemsAbility to take ownership of assigned dutiesMust demonstrate initiative, flexibility, innovation and urgencyAbility to meet tight deadlinesPer Pay Transparency Acts: The range for this position is $51K - $65K with a bonus potential up to 1K per quarter.Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
