Occupancy Specialist

Description We are looking for an Occupancy Specialist to join our team in Chelsea, Massachusetts. This contract position involves ensuring compliance with housing regulations while assisting tenants and applicants with rent calculations, eligibility assessments, and other administrative duties. The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality while delivering exceptional service. Responsibilities: u2022 Calculate rent based on applicants' income and ensure accuracy in assessments. u2022 Evaluate housing eligibility by reviewing applications and supporting documentation. u2022 Prepare and issue notices regarding rent adjustments and other tenant updates. u2022 Conduct interviews with applicants and current tenants, scheduling re-examination appointments as needed. u2022 Maintain detailed and accurate records of tenant information and related documentation. u2022 Schedule and coordinate appointments for interviews, orientations, and re-examination sessions. u2022 Draft thorough and precise correspondence, including letters, memos, and other communications. u2022 Assist in developing marketing strategies to minimize vacancy losses and improve occupancy rates. u2022 Interpret and enforce housing regulations to ensure compliance with eligibility rules. u2022 Protect sensitive tenant information by adhering to confidentiality protocols. Requirements u2022 Proficiency in managing multi-line phone systems with a focus on excellent customer service. u2022 Competence in data entry tasks and email correspondence. u2022 Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with tenants, applicants, and colleagues. u2022 Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word for administrative tasks. u2022 Ability to organize files and maintain detailed records. u2022 Experience in scheduling and managing appointments efficiently. u2022 Knowledge of housing policies and regulations is a plus. u2022 Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
