We are committed to serving the community and treating our patients as families.As aHealth Scientist, you willberesponsible forthe coordination of research projectssuch asIRB(Institutional Review Board) Operation, working with clinicians at all levels to further scholarly activity. You will ensure residents are up to date withrequirements,prepare lecturesandpromotecollaborative research activities between specified departments and other programs throughout the Cleveland Clinic Akron General.This is a small department with a greatteamdynamic and rewarding work completed each day.A caregiver in this position worksMonday-Friday from 8:00AM - 4:30PM. Following the first90 dayon-site period, this caregiver mayworka hybrid schedule consisting of 3 days on-site and 2 days remote.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Oversee and/orassistinvestigators in all aspects of conducting research projects, including project development, implementation, dataanalysisand interpretation.Oversee and/orassistwith the preparation and submission of abstracts, manuscripts,reportsor other publishable scientific works, as well as tracking all submissions in Sedona.Develop educational materials for attending physicians and residentstaffrelated researchmethodology, statistics and evaluating medical literature.Participate in specified department journal clubs and research meetings and present didactics on researchmethodology.Participate actively in Collaborative Research Committee and Research Oversight Committee andassistin development of research policies and educational materials for respective residency research/scholarly activity program.Develop andparticipatein collaborative working relationships with medical staff, other CCAG departments/personnel or outside organizations.Assistwith the preparation of grant applications forhospital-basedresearch projects and programs.Perform job assignments and work on special projects.Participate inappropriate professionalorganizations,departmentand hospital committees andstaycurrent in literaturepertaining toareas of research.Manage department-specific resident research rotations including meeting with all residents, educating residents on the researchprocessandassistingresidents in the development of all research projects and meeting research requirements of training program.Work closely with specified program Research/Program Directors tomaintainlines of communicationpertaining toresident research activity.Supervise research associates, assistants,residentsand students in research endeavors frominceptionto completion ofprojectwithin specified departments.Design andimplementexperiments to pursue original research.Be involved in resident recruitment as requested by specified programs to discuss institutional plete mandatory education and trainingin order tomaintainorganization anddepartmentspecific competencies and requirements.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Master's Degree in Physiology, Biology orotherhealth-related fieldTwo to three years of related experiencerequiredifMaster’spreparedExperience with SPSS or other data analysis packageAbility to independentlyinitiateand carry out original biomedical researchExcellent verbal and written communication skillsComputerskills including MS Office,Wordand ExcelAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities to meet deadlines with strong organizational skills and detail-oriented approachPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:PhDin a related fieldPhysical Requirements:Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periodsAbility to operate a computer and other office equipmentAbility to communicate and exchange accurate informationAbility to distinguish colorPersonal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as requiredPay RangeMinimum Annual Salary: $63,250.00Maximum Annual Salary: $96,467.50The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
