Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit,multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.The5NW Progressive Care Unit (PCU)specializes inpost-operative vascular and thoracicmedical services, including the placement of chest tubes and arterial bypasses.These patients have been steppeddown from the ICU but still require a higher level of monitoring and care than a medical-surgical unit.Asa ClinicalTechnician on this team, you will find a culture of respect, mutualsupport,and reliability. With excellent coaching, you will have opportunities to climb the Clinical Ladder and find your place at Cleveland Clinic.A caregiver in this position worksnights from 6:00PM - 6:30AM.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Provide orassistwith patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight,assistingpatients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoringdevicesandinserting urinary Foley catheters.Report abnormal findings or changes in physical,mentaland emotional conditions to an RN.Assistwith keeping patients’ rooms clean and plete an internal training program within two weeks of hire.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:High School Diploma or GEDBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Crossupon or within new hire periodNursing students:Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificationrequiredprior to hirePreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) ORadditionaleducation/trainingPhysical Requirements:Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeSalaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
