As Regional Safety Manager, you support Health & Safety programs across Plastipak’s manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a best-in-class safety culture at an organization recognized as one of America’s Safest Companies by EHS Today.This is a fully in-office position located our corporate headquarters in Plymouth, MI.You WillProvide guidance, direction and support the implementation of EHS programs across US manufacturing facilities; includes environmental, fire protection, and sustainability.Manage compliance with federal, state and local regulations; performs EHS inspections and audits.Develop and recommend appropriate engineering or work process modifications to prevent worker illness or injury; provide follow-up assessment of recommendations.Lead incident investigation and apply various problem solving techniques.Develop and support the completion of reports, presentations, investigations and recommendations.Work with manufacturing locations to develop or enhance new safety committees or take leadership role in enlarging the focus/scope of the safety committee's activities.Work with sites to identify existing or potential hazards, and recommend corrective/ preventive measures dealing with machine guarding, safety controls, lockout/tagout and high-risk safety programs.Coach and guide managers, leaders, and other professionals on safety leadership, promoting a culture of safety at all levels of the business.Maintain familiarity with local, state, and federal OSHA/EPA rules along with relevant consensus standards e.g., ANSI, RIA, NFPA, etc.You HaveA Bachelor’s degree in EHS, engineering, or related field required.5+ years’ of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.Certified Safety Professional (ASP/CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) preferred.Multi-site experience preferred.Ability to travel 20-25% of the time.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to operate as an effective leader and representative of Plastipak.Familiarity with Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) is a plus.As a Plastipak Associate, you receive a benefits package offering the following:Wellness ProgramsHealth Insurance Coverage, including Medical, Dental & VisionEAP, Employee Assistance ProgramLife InsuranceAccidental Death & Dismemberment InsuranceDisability Insurance: Short-Term & Long-TermAccidental InsuranceCritical Illness InsuranceHospital Indemnity Insurance401(k) Plan, with Company Matching Contribution & Profit Sharing featurePaid Time Off - 80 hours within 1st year & subsequent increasesPaid Company HolidaysDependent Care Flexible Spending AccountCaregiving via Pet InsuranceTuition Assistance ProgramSons and Daughters Scholarship ProgramTravel AssistanceEmployee Discount Programs*Some benefits are subject to eligibility requirementsPlastipak is an Equal Opportunity EmployerIn order to process your job application, Plastipak collects and stores the personal information that you submit via this website.
