If you're looking for meaningful work, a strong sense of purpose, and a place where your contributions truly matter, we invite you to consider joining us.GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONAssembles and installs substations and underground systems.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES($23.88 an hour- $29.85 an hour)Installing and repairing electrical equipment such as circuit breakers, switches, transformers, and other equipment used in power distribution systemsInspecting electrical equipment, facilities, and materials to ensure safety standards are metCoordinating with other workers to schedule repairs and maintenanceTesting electrical components using meters and other equipment to ensure they are working properlyTroubleshooting problems with electrical equipment or power lines that may be causing fires or other safety hazardsRecording information about maintenance activities, including time, location, and materials usedMaintaining records of work orders and other tasks performed on equipment such as circuit breakers and transformersInstalling and repairing electrical equipment such as circuit breakers, switches, transformers, and other equipment used in power distribution systemsOperating cranes, forklifts, or other equipment used to move large objects or materials around the workplaceBuilds concrete forms, assembles substation steel and installs footing concrete.Assembles substation steel.Has a good understanding of safety rules and company policies and promotes good relations with other crew members, patron cooperatives and the general terprets construction plans and specifications of the work to be performed.The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this positionPerforms good housekeeping practices and performs any other related duties as required or assigned.Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations from various regulatory entities, internal policies, procedures, and directives. Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CONT'DMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAt least 2 years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSProper tools are required and must be obtained within 30 days, and employees are required to wear work boots with a hardened toe, differentiated heel, and leather uppers. Boots must comply with ASTM Standard for Protective Footwear - ASTM F2413. As a condition of employment, this position requires a valid driver’s license, post-offer fit for duty physical, pre-employment drug test, and must be able to pass DOT physicalPREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSClass A or B CDL, CPR and first aid training preferred.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSOutside working environment to included uneven and difficult terrain, wherein there are potential hazardous working conditions and life-threatening situations exist (fire, chemicals, electrical sources, heights, dangerous people, etc.) part of the time.The following work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of this job.
