The Managed WiFi Sales Engineer serves as the primary technical resource supporting the sales organization throughout the lifecycle of Managed Internet and Smart Building opportunities. This role bridges the gap between customer requirements and technical solution design, ensuring proposed solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with customer expectations and service-level commitments.The Sales Engineer partners closely with Account Executives, Product, and Operations teams to design and present managed WiFi and network infrastructure solutions for multifamily, student housing, and build-to-rent communities.This position requires a strong combination of network engineering expertise, consultative sales skills, and customer-facing communication ability.Sales Support & Solution DesignPartner with Account Executives to qualify technical requirements and develop tailored managed WiFi solutionsDesign property-wide managed network architectures including:Fiber and Ethernet distributionMDF/IDF layoutsWireless access point placementCore switching and routingRedundancy strategiesTranslate customer business objectives into technical solutionsProvide technical leadership during the sales cycleTechnical ConsultingConduct discovery calls with property owners, developers, and IT stakeholdersEvaluate existing infrastructure and recommend upgrade pathsProvide technical guidance on:Network architectureCabling requirementsCircuit design and redundancyEquipment standardsSLA alignmentPerform remote and on-site technical assessmentsProposal DevelopmentProduce technical designs and supporting documentation including:Network diagramsEquipment listsScope-of-work documentationAssumptions and exclusionsSupport pricing and margin analysisAssist in development of RFP responsesCustomer PresentationsDeliver technical presentations to customers and stakeholdersExplain complex networking concepts in clear business termsPresent architecture recommendations and tradeoffsSupport executive-level solution reviewsImplementation HandoffEnsure accurate handoff of projects to implementation teamsReview final designs with project management and engineeringSupport project kickoff meetingsProvide technical clarification as neededCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with:Sales teamsEngineeringProduct managementImplementation teamsSupport teamsProvide feedback on product gaps and market needsAssist in development of standardized designsExperience5+ years in network engineering, sales engineering, or managed servicesExperience designing WiFi networks in multifamily, hospitality, campus, or enterprise environmentsExperience with managed service providers or ISPs preferredExperience supporting technical sales cyclesTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of:Enterprise WiFi designIP networking fundamentalsSwitching and routingVLAN designDHCP/DNS fundamentalsWAN architecturesCircuit provisioningNetwork redundancyStructured cabling standardsMDF/IDF designExperience with:Ruckus, Juniper, Cisco, or similar platformsWiFi heatmapping toolsNetwork diagramming toolsProposal toolsCRM systemsPreferred certifications:CWNA/CWNPCCNA or equivalentNetwork+Soft SkillsStrong communication skillsConsultative selling approachAbility to simplify complex technical topicsStrong organizational skillsCustomer-first mindsetAbility to manage multiple opportunities simultaneouslySalary and BenefitsRealPage provides a competitive salary package along with a comprehensive benefit plan that includes:Health, dental, and vision insurance.Retirement savings plan with company match.Paid time off and holidays.Professional development opportunities.Performance-based bonus based on position.Compensation may vary depending on your location, qualifications including job-related education, training, experience, licensure, and certification, that could result at a level outside of these ranges.
