Monitors and reports patient progress to health professionals. Assists Home Health patients with activities of daily living such as bathing and personal care. Helps Home Health patients with instrumental activities of daily living including meal preparation, grocery shopping, housework, laundry, and telephone use. Provides orientation and training for newly hired staff. Maintains accurate patient records and adheres to care protocols. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: u2022 Must be proficient in the English language. u2022 Reliable transportation. u2022 Must be able to read and write in English. u2022 Home Care experience preferred. u2022 Demonstrates basic computer skills. u2022 Knowledge of regulatory requirements preferred. u2022 Sympathetic attitude toward care of the sick. u2022 Ability to communicate effectively in English. u2022 Ability to follow directions and deal effectively with job demands. u2022 Successful completion of a Home Health Aide competency evaluation. u2022 Demonstrated knowledge of home health aide services/tasks. u2022 Problem-solving abilities. u2022 Positive interpersonal communication skills. u2022 Team and customer service oriented. u2022 Completion of a minimum of seventy-five (75) hours of documented home health aide training with at least sixteen (16) hours of supervised practical training by a qualified RN covering essential care skills and knowledge areas. Education: u2022 High School Grad or Equiv [Required] u2022 Technical/Vocational School [Required] Field of Study: u2022 N/A Work Experience: u2022 1+ employment experience as a nurses aide in an institutional setting.
