Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerJob Description As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing mechanical components for powertrain systems. You will work closely with system engineers, project teams, and vendors to support component selection, manufacturing, and assembly. Responsibilities + Design and optimize mechanical components for powertrain systems. + Design fabricated weldments and machined components, including frames, brackets, shafts, couplings, flanges, housings, and clutches. + Analyze mechanical, electrou2011mechanical, and electrou2011hydraulic systems. + Develop manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable standards. + Review and analyze customer design proposals and specifications for feasibility, cost, and performance. + Collaborate with system engineers, project teams, and vendors to support component selection, manufacturing, and assembly. + Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. + Specify system components or direct product modifications to ensure conformance with engineering and performance requirements. Essential Skills + Bacheloru2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering. + 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience. + Experience reviewing and analyzing customer design proposals and specifications. + Experience creating flat patterns and detailed mechanical drawings. + Mechanical design skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience designing continuousu2011duty industrial equipment. + Exposure to robotics and industrial automation. + Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and Plasma CNC programming. + Experience entering Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings into ERP/MRP systems. + Strong mechanical aptitude and handsu2011on problemu2011solving ability. + Proficient in 3D CAD modeling. + Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Work Environment This role requires onsite work from 7AM to 4PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $39.42/hr.
