Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add an Electronics Engineering Manager 2 u2013 Communications Responsible Engineer to join our team in Rancho Bernando, CA . This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization supporting Global Hawk program. This role has both 80% program technical responsibilities and 20% functional responsibilities as a section manager leading a team of 10-15 engineers of various grade levels. PROGRAM duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: u2022u2003u2003Primary Responsible Engineer for complex communications subsystem, supplier technical interface, and focal IPT representative for integration support. u2022u2003u2003Lead, research, design, development, integration, and test of a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including RF datalinks, SATCOM and Communications Networks. u2022u2003u2003Maintaining complex RF communications architectures, systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers. u2022u2003u2003Technical planning, architecture, design, integration, deployment, verification and validation, and system effectiveness analysis at all levels to include concept, design, configuration, test, installation, operation, and maintenance. u2022u2003u2003Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. u2022u2003u2003Interface with Sub-IPTs for cost, schedule, and risks and opportunity. u2022u2003u2003Reporting comms status to Program Managers and IPT Management. FUNCTIONAL HOMEROOM duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: u2022u2003u2003Lead a section of electronics, electrical and mechanical engineers (10-15 personnel) u2022u2003u2003Build an engineering culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development, and supports innovation u2022u2003u2003Partner with technical and functional management to develop an approach that satisfies the staffing needs between programs. u2022u2003u2003Timecard approval, employee performance evaluations, facilitating employee growth, and special assignments in support of the functional homeroom u2022u2003u2003Ensure personnel and hardware safety, driving compliance with policies and procedures including security, property management, training, configuration control, and test conduct u2022u2003u2003Instruct, mentor and champion agile concepts and processes u2022u2003u2003Special assignments in support of the functional homeroom The selected candidate should be a self-starter and thrive working in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, engaged in assignments across multiple engineering disciplines, within a collaborative/team setting on all levels of the organization. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. Once established in role, the position could potentially offer a hybrid work environment. Scheduled telework days are approved at manager's discretion. This position requires the ability to travel up to 10% of the time. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: u2022u2003u2003Bacheloru2019s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Masteru2019s degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of related engineering experience u2022u2003u2003Experience leading an engineering team or project u2022u2003u2003Extensive experience in RF architectures and networking engineering u2022u2003u2003Active in-scope, DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance once in position. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: u2022u2003u2003Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance. u2022u2003u2003Prior Functional Management Experience u2022u2003u2003Demonstrated success in leading, collaborating, and developing cross functional teams of varying degrees of skill on complex technical projects u2022u2003u2003Strong understanding of networking strategies including TCP/IP & WAN architectures. u2022u2003u2003Familiar with encryption methods and cross-domain integrations u2022u2003u2003Experience with the following: ou2003u2003RF and digital system design & analysis ou2003u2003Antenna theory and operation ou2003u2003COMMS Wideband and Narrowband integration and testing. Iridium, INMARSAT, Ku, CDL and Starlink a plus. ou2003u2003Airborne platform radio integration such ARCs ou2003u2003System Performance Verification and Component Qualifications for Flight ou2003u2003System Engineering, Requirements Derivation ou2003u2003Design documentation: E.g. Primary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $241,700.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
