Legal Assistant

Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team in Los Angeles, California. This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity with a focus on intellectual property, particularly patents and trademarks. The role offers a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic legal environment, supporting attorneys and corporate-level matters. Responsibilities: u2022 Assist with the preparation, registration, and maintenance of patents and trademarks. u2022 Review and organize patent portfolios, ensuring consistency with physical and digital records. u2022 Perform data entry and maintain accurate schedules for legal documentation and filings. u2022 Proofread legal documents and correspondence to ensure accuracy and professionalism. u2022 Collaborate with attorneys and team members to manage intellectual property matters efficiently. u2022 Conduct research, including USPTO searches, to support patent and trademark applications. u2022 Communicate effectively with corporate clients regarding legal processes and updates. u2022 Provide administrative support, including scheduling and organizing files. u2022 Contribute to team projects and demonstrate leadership when necessary. Requirements u2022 At least 3 years of experience in a legal environment, preferably with exposure to intellectual property (patents, trademarks, or copyrights). u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with graphic design software is a plus. u2022 Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail. u2022 Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. u2022 Experience handling corporate client communications is preferred. u2022 Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. u2022 Internship experience in intellectual property or related areas is acceptable. u2022 Familiarity with legal research tools and USPTO processes is advantageous.
