DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES u2022 Develop and expand knowledge of seafood product storage and preparation techniques. u2022 Observe and follow all company policies and established standard practices. u2022 Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and comply with company personal appearance policy. u2022 Assist in special projects and perform other functions as assigned by supervision. u2022 Assist in training other associates when assigned. u2022 Build and maintain ice wall. u2022 Maintain solid communication in the department and throughout the organization. u2022 Work within our company's management planning (MPP) guidelines to maintain productivity. u2022 Support company safety standards. Communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance work needed. Keep work area free from debris and safety hazards. u2022 Treat all co-workers with fairness and dignity. u2022 Have total understanding of department's standard practice manual and its intent. u2022 Observe and maintain company sanitation and food safety standards. u2022 Maintain the quality of department's appearance and presentation. u2022 Perform all other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS u2022 Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills. u2022 Effective interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment. u2022 Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job. Physical Requirements u2022 Tolerate working in extreme cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time. u2022 Stand or walk 100% of the time while working in an area surrounded by freezers and coolers filled with ice. u2022 Lift cases of products weighing up to 50 lb. frequently. u2022 Meet established volume activity standards. u2022 Frequent reaching, grasping and lifting of products with arms fully extended: waist to shoulder height. u2022 Use hands to feel objects, use knives to open boxes/cases or to prepare and clean fish. u2022 Frequent bending. u2022 Handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packaging materials, and food products. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS u2022 Provide outstanding, friendly customer service. Communicate with and assist customers in selection of product. u2022 Cut, filet and display seafood. Process merchandise properly, paying careful attention to rotation of products according to prescribed standards. u2022 Perform assigned tasks such as replenishing merchandise, preparation of food products or setting up displays etc. u2022 Maintain accurate, neat records of production, shrink, sales, and inventory. u2022 Package and display products according to customer demands. u2022 Wash, rinse, and sanitize equipment according to company policies. u2022 Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
