IT Security Specialist

Description We are looking for a dedicated IT Security Specialist to join our team in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and security of data across our systems. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong background in cybersecurity and governance practices. Responsibilities: u2022 Implement and monitor security protocols to ensure the protection of sensitive data and systems. u2022 Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. u2022 Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard computer files and databases. u2022 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address cybersecurity risks and enhance overall security posture. u2022 Analyze security incidents and provide recommendations for mitigation and prevention. u2022 Manage and maintain secure access controls for databases and information systems. u2022 Provide training and awareness programs to educate staff on cybersecurity best practices. u2022 Stay up-to-date with emerging threats and technologies to continuously improve security measures. u2022 Assist in the development and execution of governance strategies related to cybersecurity. u2022 Prepare detailed reports on security performance and compliance findings for management review. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT security or a related field. u2022 Solid understanding of data privacy regulations and best practices. u2022 Expertise in database security and cybersecurity principles. u2022 Familiarity with cyber governance strategies and frameworks. u2022 Proficiency in managing secure computer files and access controls. u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and address security risks. u2022 Effective communication skills to collaborate with teams and present findings. u2022 Ability to stay current with advancements in cybersecurity technologies and methodologies.
