Job Title: Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician u2013 3rd Shift Job Description The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician on 3rd shift performs mechanical, electrical, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of industrial equipment. This role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, as well as supporting fabrication and basic PLC diagnostics to keep production running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities + Perform mechanical, electrical, and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment including hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, vacuum seal systems, overhead cranes, lamination equipment, gel coating machines, CNC trimmers, sensored conveyors, motors, pumps, conveyors, rollers, and pulleys. + Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including identifying and servicing flow control valves, directional valves, check valves, and proportioning valves. + Diagnose and repair electrical systems ranging from 24v to 480v 3-phase, using a meter to check circuits and verify proper voltage and continuity. + Read and interpret electrical prints, drawings, and symbols to identify wire numbers, destinations, and voltages in order to determine appropriate troubleshooting steps. + Perform basic PLC troubleshooting by checking inputs and outputs, flagging proximity sensors, verifying signals at the PLC, and confirming voltage at relays, switches, and sensors using a meter. + Carry out fabrication work as needed, primarily MIG welding on steel, and occasionally using manual equipment such as a Bridgeport, mill, or lathe to fabricate or modify parts. + Quickly fabricate parts or components to support urgent line or shop repairs, using accurate measurements and creating simple blueprints or sketches when needed. + Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. + Work safely with PPE and respirators when required, particularly in areas with strong odors or elevated temperatures. + Physically perform job duties including standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs, and moving around various areas of the facility throughout the shift. + Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize repairs, communicate equipment status, and support smooth plant operations. + Document maintenance activities, repairs, and findings in a clear and accurate manner. Essential Skills + At least 5+ years of multi-craft industrial maintenance experience. + Strong mechanical maintenance background with a clear understanding of hydraulic systems and the function of flow control valves, directional valves, check valves, and proportioning valves. + Proven electrical troubleshooting experience, including the ability to check circuits with a meter and troubleshoot 24v, 120v, and 480v 3-phase systems. + Ability to read and interpret electrical prints, drawings, and symbols, including wire numbers, routing, and voltage levels. + Basic PLC troubleshooting skills, including checking inputs and outputs, verifying signals from proximity sensors at the PLC, and using a meter to confirm voltage at outputs, relays, switches, and sensors. + Fabrication experience with MIG welding on steel and occasional use of manual machining equipment such as a Bridgeport, mill, or lathe. + Ability to quickly fabricate parts or components to support repair work, using accurate tape measure readings and creating simple blueprints or sketches when fabricating on the fly. + Capability to stand, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and perform other physical tasks required in a manufacturing environment. + Ability to pass a respirator fit test and wear a respirator when required for certain tasks or areas. + Availability to work 3rd shift, Sunday through Thursday, from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Certifications, degrees, or completed courses in a skilled trade or related technical field. + Ability to perform more in-depth PLC troubleshooting beyond basic input/output checks. + Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish. + Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures and maintenance best practices. + Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. + Effective communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and explain technical issues clearly. Work Environment This is a 3rd shift role, working Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with a shift premium for overnight hours. The facility includes multiple areasu2014wet side, wood room, dry side, and shipping/receivingu2014each with distinct processes and equipment. In one specific area of the plant, you can expect strong odors from acetone, resin, and fiberglass; this product is contained within a paint booth, but the odors can linger in the surrounding area. In that same area, the temperature remains around 85 degrees to ensure proper curing of gel coat and fiberglass. Personal protective equipment is provided, including white tie-back suits, gloves, and respirators, and you must wear a respirator when working on designated equipment or in specified zones. Passing a respirator fit test is required to work in these areas. The role is hands-on and physically active, involving regular movement throughout the plant, working around industrial machinery, and occasionally performing fabrication and welding tasks in a shop setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Goshen, IN.
