Job Title: Maintenance Electrician Job Description The Maintenance Electrician diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical issues across the manufacturing floor, ensuring that process, production, and facility equipment operate safely and reliably. This role leads and coordinates repair activities for equipment failures, supports preventive maintenance efforts, and maintains accurate documentation in the maintenance management system. Responsibilities + Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical issues on the manufacturing floor for process, production, and facility equipment. + Engage in the repair and maintenance of conveyor lines, ovens, furnaces, stamping equipment, controls, drives, sensors, PLCs, and robotic machinery. + Lead and coordinate repair activities during equipment failures to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency. + Ensure equipment failures are resolved in a timely manner and escalate for technical assistance when necessary. + Document daily maintenance activities, repairs, and findings in the maintenance CMMS system (eMaint). + Plan, coordinate, and implement 5S standards in all maintenance areas, including personal work areas, the shop, and specialized repair zones. + Communicate effectively with all relevant positions and departments to complete assigned projects and keep plant equipment and facilities in proper working order. + Generate accurate information and requests to secure the necessary parts and materials required to complete projects and repairs. + Participate in preventive maintenance (PM) events in all required areas to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life. + Monitor emergency breakdown calls, respond promptly, and coordinate additional technical support as needed. + Perform electrical wiring tasks and ensure all work complies with applicable electrical standards and safety practices. + Support continuous improvement efforts related to equipment reliability, safety, and maintenance processes. Essential Skills + Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in an industrial or manufacturing environment. + Hands-on experience with motors, motor controls, and drives troubleshooting. + Proficiency in electrical repair, including diagnosing and correcting issues with controls, drives, sensors, and related components. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics. + Experience with electrical troubleshooting and systematic problem solving for complex equipment. + Demonstrated ability to perform drives and controls repair. + Experience with PLC troubleshooting. + Experience working with robotic machinery and associated control systems. + Proficiency with electrical wiring tasks in an industrial setting. + Ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional teams to coordinate repairs and projects. + Capability to document work accurately in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), such as eMaint. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Familiarity with conveyor lines, ovens, furnaces, stamping equipment, and related industrial machinery. + Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment. + Comfort working with sensors, PLCs, and robotic systems as part of daily maintenance activities. + Experience implementing or working within 5S or similar workplace organization standards. + Ability to participate in and support preventive maintenance programs. + Strong organizational skills to plan and prioritize multiple maintenance tasks and projects. + Willingness to work night shifts and overtime as needed. Work Environment This role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility that can be hot and dirty throughout most areas of the plant. The position operates on a night shift schedule from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., following a 2 days on / 2 days off, 3 days on / 3 days off rotation. Overtime is currently unlimited and voluntary, providing flexibility for those who want additional hours. You will work around heavy industrial equipment such as conveyor lines, ovens, furnaces, stamping equipment, and robotic machinery, using modern controls, drives, sensors, PLCs, and a CMMS (eMaint) to manage and document maintenance activities. Appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment are required to safely perform duties in this industrial environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Shelbyville, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $69680.00 - $80800.00/yr.
